can easily change the total magnification of their microscopes.

MEIJI
AUXILIARY OBJECTIVE LENSES FOR EM SERIES MEIJI MICROSCOPES
Auxiliary lenses can be
added to EM Series microscope bodies simply by screwing them into the threads
below the objectives.  They
can either increase or decrease total magnification, but they are frequently
used to increase the working distance of the microscope.
Auxiliary lenses with magnifications
less than 1x increase the distance at which the microscope will focus on
a specimen, and lenses with magnifications greater than 1x will decrease
the distance. However, this is particularly useful for users who need to
work with their hands under a microscope.

Accessories
Meiji EM series stereo microscopes
and stands with transmitted light like our PBH or PKL stands can be retro-fitted
with the following polarizing accessories. The MA667 polarizing plate replaces
the glass stage plate on any of Meiji's transmitted light stands.
The MA550 analyzer attaches to the EM stereo body below the objectives.
When used in combination, these two components form a simple polarizing
system useful for detecting and viewing birefringent materials such as
minerals, inorganic crystals, bone specimens, and strained glass.
